章节摘录

"Yes, Missy The voice echoed.Bella glared at me for a second, and I glared at her back with equal force. She got tired of glaring after a wlule and hopped off the chair to go to her room, leaving her food untouched. I wasn't in the mood to stop her, so I watched wearily as two maids ran afier her to the room. Sipping my milk, I didn't look up as Bella loudly slammed her door in the maids' faces. Then just as I'd expected, Bella started screaming and cursing inside her room. I stayed unmoved as I heard the glasses shattering on the floor. Through the window I could make out what seemed like a book shelf falling, the floor cracking as it hit. I heard tables fall and furniture crack; I could make out what she was trashing in there by the sound. "What else is new?" I murmured under my breath, finishing my breakfast emotionlessly and then walked toward the lobby "You'll get tired and you'll stop, you beast." I mouthed vehemently as I jumped at Bella's screaming. Two maids held out the huge door for me as I entered the lobby; Mia was sitting on the sofa. She looked bored. “Leave.” I ordered the maids as they settled the coffee on the table. Mia tilted her head to look at me with an amused expression."So who is Angela, anywayl" Mia smirked after' they left. I went to sit besides Mia and took a sip of my coffee before answering. "A friend I met at Central Park" I told her. I remembered my first meeting with Mia, the daughter of my Dad's biggest business partner, Mr. Carlson, and seeing how she tucked the edge of her skirt in her fist. "Now you two have fun together Mr.Carlson padded my shoulder and told us, smiling. And we had been together ever since. She wasn't restrained by her family background, I later learned, but she had somehow managed to "appear to befriend for all the years??l. We were so used to being together but knowing nothing about each other. Now seeing her sitting here, it suddenly lut me how familiar I am with her tone and every body gesture. The floor shuddered as I spoke. "Whoa, is she doing that again" she asked casually, chuckling lightly I gave her a look "Well, she'll know this is no use and she' Il stop. She'll learn to control herself eventually Mia assured me, wearing a hugesmile. "You're early." I told her in a low voice, standing up with my coffee. "Well, I already sent one of your bodyguards to watch Angela: Shecontinued with looking up. "Honestly Dream, I don't think that Angelais safe for you to meet all by yourself." She spoke with such ease as if she was referring to a type of alcohol ."My bodyguard? My gratitude for her for helping me out was beginning to wear thin. "Who's going to pay for that?" Anger ran rich in my well built sarcasm. "I did it for you, dude: Mia grumbled. "I need to make sure you' resafe" My eyes dashed to her, to examine her. "Maybe you are an angel yourself. God sent you down straight from heaven." Angela said. Her eyes flicked to mine as she was frowning. "Then why don't you be my bodyguard?" I murmured to myself inaudibly. ……
