作者简介

Ophthalmology is a vast and expanding specialty. One of the basic foundations of ophthalmology is grounded on the optics and day by day, more is being discovered and elucidated in this field.
The rationale for “Clinical Optics and Refraction; 313 Key Questions Answered” is to make clinical optics and refraction available for vision scientists and ophthalmologists as well as residents and students who would be interested in practicing on the sample exam questions prior to the exam.
Although the book is written primarily for ophthalmologist in training, most of the questions can be used for optometry residents at the MSc and PhD level.
The book provides comprehensive and clinically based sample questions in optics and refraction. With its suggested routines and numerous examples, this new book offers a straightforward “how to approach” multiple choice questions in clinical optics, refraction, and contact lens optics. Most of the questions have been answered meticulously by referring to current versions of the Basic and Clinical Science Course (BCSC) book series by American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). The book's clinical slant makes optics and refraction relevant to clinical practice and the answers reinforce the imperative points.
However, one must remember when using this book to study that it is not a primary text, but rather another tool to be used when doing a review in all subspecialized fields of clinical optics and refraction.
As a matter of fact, almost no multiple choice question books can hope to replace a skilled teacher. Practical teaching must remain the essence of learning. Similarly, the importance of study groups among exam candidates should not be overlooked.
