1.Remenber your youth and inexperience,your total ignorance of the great world,be always modest ingenuous ,teachable,never assuming or forward ,treat all people with respect.
你们一定要处处多加小心，要记住，自己还年轻，缺乏经验，不懂上层社会的规矩。所以你们务必处处谦虚，戒骄戒躁，勤学好问，真诚待人，尊敬他人，言谈适当，举止得体。
2.I wish you to have each a pencil book,always in your pockett , by which you may minue on the spot any remarkable thing ou may see or hear.
我希望你们每人都要准备一个笔记本，要随身携带。这样当你们看到或者听到新鲜事时，就可以当场记下。
3.Whatever you write preserve.
不管你写什么东西，都要保留下来。
4.I have burned ,bushls of my silly notes , in fitts of impatience and humiliation ,which i would now give anything to recover ."These fair creature are thysef" And would be more be more useful and influential in self examination than all the sermons of the clergy.
