1. 强调设计基本功与原创

时下由于设计师对设计基本功的忽视而减弱了设计原创性，使得设计雷同、抄袭等现象日趋严重。建筑趋同，城市趋同，文化缺失，城市没有灵魂，我们生活在一个没有精神的环境。本书选在此时出版，正是要唤起设计者以及将来成为设计者的朋友们重新重视基本功训练、倡导原创设计，找回我们的精神家园。

建筑钢笔速写以其简便、快捷、具有表现力以及独特的视觉艺术效果而被许多画家用来收集素材，作为创作的前期准备，也有画家用此方式专为书籍制作精美的插图。建筑师进行建筑创作时更是信手用钢笔快速准确地在纸上画出他们的设计理念、构思和创意，通过建筑的平面、立面、剖面以及透视图快速表达出来，使实际工程项目在设计过程中有了很好的交流语言。
