第一册侧重基础英语知识的学习,包括基本语法介绍、音标发音矫正、简单的阅读理解等,词汇掌握量在2000~2500个左右。
第二册侧重较高层次语法知识的学习,课文的长度和难度较第一册有所提升,词汇掌握量在3500~4000个左右。
第三册侧重更高层次语法知识的学习,同时着重训练学生的写作能力,词汇掌握达到5000~5500个左右。
第四册侧重医护科普阅读和写作技巧的训练,学生的词汇量应掌握在6500~7000个左右。
本套教材根据初中及高中毕业生的英语水平设置,只要按部就班地学完全部四册教材后,学生的英语水平可以达到托福考试550分的标准。
