　　作为上海市紧缺人才培训项目之一，英语中、高级口译资格证书考试，从1995年起至今已操作了整整10年，从刚开始每次报名考试仅数百人，到现在参考者人数已逾4万，已取得很高的社会认可度。目前立足上海，辐射周边地区，如江苏、浙江两省的南京、杭州、宁波、苏州，远及武汉、深圳、南昌、青岛等地。上海以外地区的考生人数最近几次考试均已超过万名。　　英语高级口译资格证书考试根据口译特点，以测试口译水平为主要目标，从听、说、读、译（笔译和口译）四个方面对考生的综合语言应用能力进行全面测试。整项考试分笔试和口试两个阶段。只有先通过笔试，考生才有资格参加口试，并最终获得资格证书。所以，笔试是整项考试的基础，是口试的铺垫，可谓十分重要。笔试包括6个部分：听力（1）、（2），阅读（1）、（2），英译汉，汉译英。口试包括2个部分：口语和口译。笔试总分300分（6个部分，每部分均为50分），合格为180分，换言之，考生在笔试中必须最少获得180分才算通过。笔试总考试时间180分钟，其中听力部分60分钟，阅读部分60分钟，英译汉和汉译英各30分钟。　　英语高级口译资格证书考试笔试听力有2个部分（Section 1和Section 4）。Section 1包括昕写（Spot Dictation）和听力理解（Listening Comprehension）。Section 4包括笔记（Note-taking and Gap-filling）和听译（Listening and Translation）。在这4种题型中，除听力理解部分采用客观性试题形式（多项选择题）外，听写、笔记和听译均属主观性试题，尤其是听译题，是根据口译考试特点设计的全新题型，国内其他任何英语听力测试都还没有。

前言

　　处于新世纪的中国，改革开放不断深化和发展，对外交流日趋密切和频繁。作为国际大都市的上海与世界各国在经济、金融、贸易、文化、教育等领域的合作越来越多，对外语人才，特别是精通英语、并能熟练进行英汉互译的英语人才的需求也越来越大。为了适应这一需求，早在1995年，上海市便启动了“上海英语高级口译资格证书考试”项目。该项目由上海市委组织部、市人事局、市教育委员会和市成人教育委员会组织和确认，由上海市高校浦东继续教育中心具体负责，为“九十年代上海紧缺人才培训工程”项目之一。十余年来该项目成果斐然：考试规模不断扩大，考生人数、生源范围等不断发展；相关教程、培训等的普及性、社会认可度等不断增强。应该说，这个项目为培养更多高素质、高层次的英语口译工作者，为推动上海经济和文化的发展做出了巨大贡献。　　一个合格的口译工作者应具备扎实的语言功底，在听、说、读、写、译等方面都达到较高的水平。在该项目进行过程中，英语口译资格证书教材编委会认真规划、精心编写了《高级翻译教程》、《高级听力教程》、《高级口语教程》、《高级口译教程》和《高级阅读教程》，分别供笔译、听力、口语、口译和阅读五门课程教学使用。这套教程因其目的明确、题材广泛、内容丰富、体例科学、新颖实用而广受欢迎。十余年来，为了保持教材的时代性和实用性，编委会已经组织专家学者进行过一次修订。2005年在广泛征求各方反馈意见的基础上，上海市高校浦东继续教育中心召开考试大纲和教程修订会议，组织相关编者进行第二次修订。各位编者广泛选材，精心编写，反复研讨，认真审核。修订后的教程进一步拓展了选材范围，更加注重内容的新颖性和应用性。
