杰瑞·沃德（Jerry Washington Ward）教授，美国弗吉尼亚大学文学博士，曾任教于弗吉尼亚大学、图加卢学院等美国高校，2002—2012年受聘为路易斯安那州迪拉德大学杰出教授，自2011年起受聘为华中师范大学外国语学院“中国教育部海外名师计划”特聘教授。沃德教授主要研究美国文学和美国非裔文学、文学理论与批评等，是美国著名作家理查德—赖特研究会创始人和学术权威之一，先后出版《南方黑人的声音》、《重新定义美国文学史》、《搅浑这水：美国非裔诗歌250年》、《理查德·赖特百科全书》、《剑桥美国非裔文学史》等著作。
