　　There is a reason for everything. What seem to be new ideas develop from older ones .Consider Jazz，which developed and quickly spread in the United States in the early twentieth century，from 1900 to 1930.　　Jazz developed among black people who worked in the south，picking cotton and growing tobacco by the Mississippi River（密西西比河）.These people，originally slaves from Africa，were poor and usually without education. Thier way of telling stories was to sing，often about religion .Later，the new music developed in the southern city of New Orleans（新奥尔良）.Here，in cafes，restaurants and drinking saloons，men played the piano. Often the players improvised. This was necessary because thev could not read music from printed sheets.
