I was quite nervous because the professor said he wouldnt accept any late papers.　　M. I dont know how you did it. What does Jane want to do？　　Section C　　When a plane from London arrived at Sydney airport， workers began to unload a number of wooden boxes which contained clothing. No one could account for the fact that one of the boxes was extremely heavy. It suddenly occurred to one of the workers to open up the box. He was astonished at what he found. A man was lying in the box on top of a pile of woolen goods. The man was so surprised at being discovered that he did not even try to run away. After he was arrested， the man admitted hiding in the box before the plane left London. He had had a long and uncomfortable trip， for he had been confined to the wooden box for over ten hours. The man was ordered to pay 345 pounds for the cost of the trip. The normal price of a ticket is 230 pounds！

　　大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力，特别是听、说能力，使他们在今后的工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流。作为英语学习的重要技能之一，听力在英语学习中占有十分重要的地位。目前国内流行的各种英语考试都加大了听力的比重，由此可见提高听力能力的重要性。从历届高等学校英语应用能力考试（A级）及大学英语四级考试的听力成绩来看，大学生的听力水平普遍较低，而他们也迫切希望提高听力水平。为满足广大学生的愿望和要求，我们特地编写了这本《大学英语听力训练》，它既可作为教材供学生课堂使用，也可作为听力强化材料供学生课后自学使用。　　本书是根据教育部最新颁发的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》和《大学英语四级考试大纲》，结合高职高专学生的特点以及教学对象的英语水平编写而成的。本书最大的特色是听力理论部分围绕题型分析、技巧点拨、考点直击三个方面展开。学生可以通过对三个步骤的理解及掌握，对每个考点了如指掌，大大提高答题的准确率。

作者简介
