This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the International Workshop on Gesture and Sign Languages in Human-Computer Interaction, GW 2001, held in London, UK, in April 2001. The 25 revised full papers and 8 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the post-proceedings.
