Catells argues that the fundamental power of media lies in the shaping of human mind. The stakeholder of the market owns the media, and use regulations to control the media workers: journalist, reporters, presenters, etc.. These workers' salary and career relies on following these regulations and pleasing the management. Therefore, audience are reading media texts that have all being regulated by the dominant class. Instead of being taught to think, they are told what to think. They are suffered from symbolic violence without knowing. With media as a strong weapon, the dominant class (the stakeholders in the market for the west, the party for us) gained great power that made them deathless.
