《成人英语:本科》(上册)内容简介：在我国当前的成人高校公共英语教学中，教材是一个突出的问题。由于受种种客观条件的制约，目前统编成人高校公共英语教材几乎没有，大部分成人院校只能靠使用普通高校的公共英语教材来进行日常的教学。实际上，由于教材，的因素，很多教师根本不知道应该讲授些什么，学生也不知道应该学习些什么，从而导致教学方式呆板、无的放矢和没有“新”内容的教学过程时有发生。学生觉得课程枯燥乏味，兴趣日益减少，教学效果不够明显。为了真正提高成人英语教学质量，使学生确实能够利用英语这一工具来学习国外的先进科学技术，成人英语教学的教材必须实行全面改革。但教材的选择必须具有科学性，选编的教材必须与学生各阶段的知识能有机地衔接在一起，这样才能保证和发挥教材在培养语言能力中的作用。与此同时，教学方法也应该大力改进，改进的目标应该以突出“新颖”为主，让学生能在新鲜感的作用下，趣味盎然地进行学习。改进后的教学方法应是以锻炼学生语言实际运用能力为主要教学目的。
