After releasing urine, pinch the end of the catheter; remove the fenestrated drape and the gloves; fix the catheter （1） Strapping method Female: Cut 2/3 part of a 12 cm×4 cm tape into three. Stick the complete l/3 part on the mons pubis, then stick the middle one of the other 2/3 part on the catheter with spiral shape, and then cross stick the other two on the opposite side of the labia majora Male: Take two 12 cm×2 cm tapse;cut a small hole on each side at 1/3 to the end respectively,fold it to be non-adhesive surface, and make a single butterfly wing tape. Stick the adhesive side of thetwo tapes on the penis, and then make a thin tape as semi-circular and fix it on the penis, Fix the folded ring of the two tapes on the catheter with a tape at 1 cm away from the urethra orifice （2） Double channel retention catheter Insert the catheter as catheterization, andadvance the catheter a further 4 cm to 6 cm when urine appears. Inflate the balloon with the exact amount of normal saline indicated on the catheter. Pinch the end of the balloon, and retract the catheter until you feel resistance, which indicates that the catheter tip is anchored in the place above the bladder outlet 4. Attach the end of the catheter to the tube of the drainage bag, and open the catheter. Fix the tube to the bed sheet with a rubber rope or a pin 5. Fix the drainage bag below the bladder 6. Assist the patient to put on pants and get a comfortable position. Do instruction for retention catheter. Tidy up the bed and dispose the items 7. Wash hands and record Respect the patient and get cooperation Operate according to aseptic operation strictly, to prevent urinary infection Female urethra is short, the catheter is easy to slide out, so the catheter should be properly fixed
