Tōhōgaku (Eastern Studies) is a biannual Japanese language journal introducing articles on Eastern studies covering such extensive fields as history, literature, philology, philosophy, thought, religion, art and archaeology. It also includes reports on developments in Eastern studies at home and abroad and recollections of the scholarship and personality of pioneer Japanese scholars in the field of Eastern studies. An English summary is appended to each article. The first issue was published in 1951.
